Let’s look at the different options in the dropdown:

  • Hide Column will hide the column, but it won’t delete it. Just like in the hide dropdown.
  • Settings allows you to add a description to your column so no one gets confused.
  • Sort allows you to sort order based on a specific column.
  • **Filter **will filter out orders based on conditions or data inside of that column.
  • **Duplicate **creates a new column that is identical to the column you are duplicating.
  • Add a Column to the Right will create a new customizable column of any type.
  • Rename columns to be more clear about what that columns does.
  • Delete columns that you don’t want anymore. Please note that only custom columns can be renamed, duplicated, and deleted.

There are a number of different column types that can be created in DecoGro to help you keep track of any kind of workflow or data.

  • **Status **columns are the basis for workflows in DecoGro. You can use a single status column or multiple status columns to keep track of different workflows within an order.
  • **Tag **columns can be used to categorize orders. This can be useful for tracking whether an order is a retail or contract job, the machine that the order will be produced on, and any other tag that you might repeatedly use.
  • **Text **columns are used to input short pieces of info like tracking numbers, supplier order numbers, or any other short pieces of information.
  • Long Text columns are like text columns, but work better for large chunks of text. Please note, there are already columns for production notes and customer notes.
  • Date columns can be used to track additional dates for orders like when goods were ordered, when goods will arrive, or other important dates. Please note, there are already columns for created date, ship by date, in hands date, invoice date, and payment due date.
  • **Numbers columns **can be used to input important data like number of screens, number of thread colors, or any other number only date.
  • **User **columns can be used to assign orders to your artist, production team, or any other member of your team that needs to take ownership for part of that order. Please note, there is already a column for the order owner, which is typically used by the shop owner or sales person that is in charge of the order. By using custom columns, you can keep track of any type of order info in DecoGro. Next, we are going to take a deeper dive into status columns and how they are used to establish workflows.
