Managing Roles
What is a Role in DecoGro?
Section titled “What is a Role in DecoGro?”A role defines what a user is allowed to see and do inside of DecoGro. You can have as many roles as you’d like, and every user is assigned a role. Accounts with a single user don’t need to use roles, but roles can be very helpful as your organization grows.
Why are Roles Important?
Section titled “Why are Roles Important?”Roles allow you to show the data that is important for their specific job in your shop, but hide any data that they don’t need to see. For example, your production team members probably need to be able to see all orders that are ready for production, but you may not want them to see the pricing of the products on the order.
Roles also can block of certain functionality, as a precaution. You wouldn’t want your catcher in the admin menu accidentally processing refunds or changing crucial admin settings.
What are the Default Roles?
Section titled “What are the Default Roles?”When you first subscribe to DecoGro, the primary account will be given the Owner role. The Owner role has no limitations, and can access any page on the app. The Owner is also the person who will be contacted for any account issues or major changes such as banking info. The Owner also cannot be edited or deleted by any other admin. If you want to change the Owner on your account, please contact support.
When creating additional users, they are assigned the admin role by default. Like the Owner role, the Admin role has no limitation, and can access any page on the app.
If you don’t want all users to have full access to DecoGro, we recommend setting up new roles before inviting other users.
How Do I Add and Setup New User Roles?
Section titled “How Do I Add and Setup New User Roles?”To add a new user Role, go to Admin Settings > Users > Roles, then click the + New User Role button. From here, you can name the new role, and choose what existing role you would like to copy settings from. Don’t worry, you can still edit the permissions.
Once you click the Add Role button, you can edit which permissions you want to assign to this role, then click Save!
How Do I Edit an Existing Role?
Section titled “How Do I Edit an Existing Role?”To edit an existing role, go to Admin Settings > Users > Roles. In the Select Role to Edit dropdown, you can choose a role to edit. Once you have the role selects, you can edit which permissions you want to assign to this role, then click Save!
Please note, this will impact any user that currently has this Role.
